The Police Mops up Pubs, Bars and Nightclubs Nationwide for Social Order
In response to recent several security incidents at pubs, bars and nightclubs, which have affected the public’s perception of social order, the National Police Agency (NPA) required all the police departments to implement mopping-up work simultaneously. Chen Ja-chin, Director-General of NPA, also led Deputy Director-General and other senior officers to supervise the mopping-up work personally to prevent crimes from happening.

The NPA emphasized that the police should take the responsibility for the public’s needs of safe living environment. In addition, the related industries need to take preventive measures against out-of-order behaviors of customers, and to maintain the social order along with the police. If they cannot cooperate effectively, the police will ask the municipal governments to cut off water and electricity, or even to suspend the running of business.
